Real Impact.
Introducing the dollHOUSE Future Builders Award
The dollHOUSE Future Builders Award is a $2,000 scholarship supporting women, girls, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ individuals pursuing - or planning to pursue - careers in the skilled trades.
This award is open to Ontario residents entering fields such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, renovation, apprenticeship pathways, or other construction-related disciplines. Applicants may already be enrolled or planning to begin training within the next 12 months.
Our goal is simple: reduce financial barriers and help make the trades more accessible, representative, and equitable.
Why We Created This
Construction is creative. It is powerful. It is life-changing.
It is also still overwhelmingly male-dominated.
We believe talent exists everywhere - but opportunity does not. Financial pressure, lack of representation, and outdated perceptions continue to limit who feels welcome in this industry.
We don’t think access to the trades should depend on who you know, how much money you have, or whether you see someone who looks like you already doing the job.
This award is our way of actively changing that.
A Personal Note from dollHOUSE
The trades built our careers. They gave us independence, creativity, confidence, and community.
We’ve seen firsthand what happens when women and LGBTQ+ individuals step into spaces they were once told weren’t for them - the industry gets better.
This $2,000 isn’t charity. It’s an investment.
An investment in skill.
In grit.
In representation.
In someone who is ready to build.
If that’s you - or someone you believe in - we hope you apply.
